People often ask us why we chose Drupal or whether Drupal might be a useful tool for them. Here are some of the key reasons that we chose to develop Science Buzz using the Drupal CMS platform. Many of these traits are things you might look for in other systems. We certainly don't mean to advocate Drupal as the end-all be-all sollution.

- We were already developing in PHP and MySQL at the SMM.
- Gives us a application development framework (api.drupal.org). This allows us to use Drupal to build new tools that don't already exist.
